Annual sponsorship opportunities
Joining Bats without Borders in a business partnership is an opportunity to contribute to the vision of valuing, protecting, and conserving bats and their habitats in southern Africa. Bats without Borders envisions a future where bats and their habitats are not only valued but also protected and conserved, thereby fostering the well-being of these remarkable animals, the broader biodiversity, and local communities. The focus on bats reflects an understanding of their crucial role in maintaining ecological balance, pollination, and insect control.
By becoming an annual sponsor, companies can play a pivotal role in realising this vision, demonstrating a commitment to environmental sustainability and corporate responsibility.

We are excited to be hosting some impactful events again in 2024! In addition to our ongoing #WingedWednesday webinar series which started in 2019, each year we host events to support bat conservation efforts. We are particularly passionate about opportunities to strengthen in-country capacity and bring people across Africa (and beyond) together to enable more southern African applied research, advocacy, engagement and education, and networking for the benefit of bat conservation.

This year we are hosting our second AfriPopo (‘popo’ = ‘bat’ in Swahili) Indaba - a symposium for students to support networking, presenting in a safe and supportive environment and workshops to support ongoing career development.
It's a great opportunity for students and postdoctoral researchers working across mainland Africa and the surrounding islands, to showcase their work and network with others in the bat research and conservation space. SPONSOR THE AFRIPOPO STUDENT SYMPOSIUM (£300 | ~€350 | ~$380 | ~ZA R7,200) Funds raised enables us to offer free places and supports the running of the event. |
We are also rolling out for the first time Environmental Educators training to provide educators with training and resources to support community engagement activities to mitigate human-bat conflict. Please get in touch with us if you would like more information.
