Helen is a passionate Ecologist with a particular soft spot for Bats. She has been raising the profile of bat research and conservation in Zambia (her home country), where she is currently conducting her PhD research on ‘Bats in Agricultural Landscapes ’ with the University of Stirling, Scotland (supervised by Professor Kirsty Park and Dr Elisa Fuentes-Montemayor). Being an active Bats without Borders volunteer since 2014, she has also been involved in regional and Africa-wide projects and is committed to developing networking, collaborations and knowledge sharing across the continent. She was on the Organising Committee for the first Southern African Bat Conference in Cape Town in 2017 and brings this experience to the AfriPopo Student Conference, as well as her experience as a postgraduate researcher and general project management skills.
