James

Volunteer - Research, Fundraising and Comms teams

James Winter

James loves mammals. Bats obviously inclusive.

Living in the far north of Scotland, he has not had a lot of opportunity to work with bats recently. This is why he continues to volunteer with
Bats without Borders, with whom he has been involved since early 2018, following his Masters degree. In fact he first found out about BwB during his MSc at the University of Stirling. His Master’s dissertation was about bat activity in relation to hedge length in known foraging sites in Scotland.

James was originally involved in reviewing and summarising academic literature, he has now branched into a wider role helping in various capacities across
BwB. Outside of work and volunteering he enjoys running, photography, pulling silly faces and hugging dogs.
